Mediation

The total cost of a mediation procedure is composed of two elements: fees and expenses. The fees can either be fixed or "on success" at the option of the client, and are paid to ADR Center. Nothing is paid by the parties to the mediator directly. Expenses include those of administration that are incurred in all cases once the parties agree to pursue mediation. All of the sums exclude VAT and normally are to be deposited with ADR Center at least five days before the mediation session.

Fixed fee
The fee is predetermined on the basis of the value and of the length of the procedure. The parts just pay for the time spent in joined session or in separated session with the mediator. The length is agreed in advance by ADR and the parts. Any eventual time extension will need the approval of the parts. The mediation usually lasts one day; in some cases, not very complicated disputes can be solved in half a day and, just in the most complicated cases, the mediation can last more than three days.

"On success" fee
For this second type of fee, there is no cost for the parts if they don't reach any agreement. The advantage of this solution is very clear: the parts don't owe anything to ADR if the dispute doesn't have a positive result.
